Powerhouse Gym located in the center of Kaka’ako, 432 Keawe Street, is presenting The 1st Annual Kakaako Powerhouse Block Party on Saturday, March 8. 2008, from 11am ‘till 10 pm. And, It’s FREE!
The block party will encourage a healthy, joyful, and active lifestyle, physical fitness, and nutrition event through physical participation presented by Hawaii’s Strongest Man Competition, games, physical challenges, contests, plenty of free prizes and ending the family day with The Power Jam Dance Concert featuring Hawaii’s Hoku award winning Kalapana… Also, Three Plus, Ernie Cruz, Cory Oliveros, and more for the entire community. Owners Alvin Paguio and Keri Kaneko Paguio say, “We all want to have the energy and the freedom to do what we want….when we want! And not let our bodies hold us back. We need to empower ourselves to envision and achieve the life we all deserve. We have choices! We can’t let illness, injury, fatigue or laziness stop us from leading the life we imagine.”

HAWAII’S STRONGEST MAN COMPETITION
Hawaii’s Strongest Man Competition attracts some of the World’s Strongest Men. We will have many competitors coming in from the mainland and other parts of the world with officials from the World’s Strongest Man Competition attending Powerhouse Gym’s “Kaka’ako Block Party” for the ultimate strong men event that’s been showing on ESPN. It’s one of the most staggering awestruck competitions in the world.
• Exciting competitions includes:
• Farmer’s Walk: 275 lbs, - 200 feet with a turn at 100 feet
• Tire Flip: 1000-1200 lbs. 25-30 yards
• Yoke: 800-850, 25-30 yards
• Log Lift: 275 lbs. for reps. Clean and press each rep (8” log)
• Truck Pull
• Stones (Staggering heights, tallest box is 6’2”)
And so much more mind boggling, overwhelming demonstrations and challenging events that include people participation, presented and produced by Powerhouse Gym.
